Ceiling sign-hanging technology awarded Gold Star in
national design contest for displays, signs and fixtures
Reel E-Z Display Inc. announced today that Walgreens will be installing its new sign-hanging technology – called Reel E-Z Display(TM) – in all Walgreens stores nationwide. Reel E-Z Display also will be installed in all new Walgreens store openings, effective immediately.
Reel E-Z Display is a newly patented sign-hanging system designed to maximize the effectiveness of in-store promotional campaigns. A single engineered unit, Reel E-Z Display enables employees to change signs quickly and easily from the ground – reducing the safety risks and labor costs associated with traditional sign-hanging methods.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
For years, hanging and changing ceiling signage required the use of ladders and a complicated, archaic system of flimsy clips and string. Not only was the process frustrating and time-intensive – often involving at least two people to coordinate and several minutes per sign to change or install – it also was unsafe, costing retailers hundreds of thousands of dollars in labor costs and liabilities. Even then, signs often would hang unevenly, hang in an untimely fashion or not be hung at all. Reel E-Z Display has changed all that.
Reel E-Z Display allows for the timely and precise management of in-store display – maximizing the effectiveness of point-of-purchase programs while ensuring consistency in the overall look and feel of the in-store environment.
Reel E-Z Display is a single unit that clips easily (without tools) onto the struts of a drop or open ceiling. Once in place, signs are attached via “S” hooks to a self-leveling bar that is accessible from the ground using a specially designed pole. Signs are changed by pulling down on the bar, sliding two small stoppers to the desired sign height (aided by convenient color-coded markings on the unit’s pulley system), hanging the sign and guiding the sign pole back up to the set height.
Reel E-Z Display is designed to accommodate a variety of ceilings heights and environments, including stores, malls, hotels, civic centers, offices and trade shows.
Also announced today, Reel E-Z Display received a Gold Star in the 2003 Design of the Times competition at The P-O-P Show in New York. Design of the Times recognizes the most innovative, new displays, signs and fixtures in the retail industry. There were a record 400+ entries for the contest this year.
